I've played around with the idea of donating blood for a while. The only thing stopping me is that, until now, I haven't known what the minimum age limit was (although I assumed it was probably seventeen) and I didn't know what else might be required.
Now I know, though. I have to be at least seventeen, weigh a minimum of one hundred and ten pounds, and be healthy (with 'healthy' meaning that I feel well and am able to do normal activities). All this assumes that the Red Cross restrictions in Canada are the same as in the US - but I don't really see any reason why they should be.
So, now I know what I have to meet in order to donate blood. Which means that I need to gain at least five more pounds.
I don't suppose anyone'd like to trade a slow metabolism for my rapid one, would they?
